Benefits Advocates
If you or a family member receives a diabetes or pre-diabetes diagnosis, contact a Benefits Advocate who will connect you with all of the benefits and resources the Firm provides. Your dedicated advocate will work directly with you and your family, and can provide ongoing support by finding specialists, obtaining treatment estimates and second opinions, understanding medical bills and plan coverage, and resolving your medical claims. Call 1-877-MSHR-411 and say “Benefits Advocates” when prompted.

Diabetes Management and Support Program by Livongo
New in 2021: The new diabetes management and support program, administered by Livongo, can help you better manage your diabetes and make living with diabetes easier and healthier. Livongo combines the latest technology – including a meter that uploads your blood glucose readings to your secure online account – with an unlimited supply of lancets and individual support from a diabetes coach. The program is free to employees and their dependents who have diabetes and are enrolled in the Morgan Stanley Medical Plan through Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Kaiser and HMSA.

Financial Assistance under the Medical Plan
If you choose not to enroll in Livongo and are covered by the Firm’s Medical Plan, you will get your diabetes supplies and medication at no cost to you. Note: Supplies are also covered under the Firm’s Medical Plan. UHC: 888-332-8891 | Cigna: 800-244-6224

Chronic Condition Management (UHC and Cigna)
By enrolling in the Diabetes Chronic Condition Management program, you and your family will be supported by specialized nurses who can answer questions related to diabetes and other chronic conditions, assist with appointments and arrange support services such as child care and counseling, if necessary. Preventive Care
Getting age- and gender-appropriate preventive care can help catch small health problems before they become major health issues, like diabetes or other chronic conditions. Preventive care is available at no cost: The Firm’s Medical Plan covers 100% of the cost of an annual exam and some preventive screenings and services when using in-network providers. Biometric Screenings (Health Centers | All US)
Screenings are free and include cholesterol and glucose checks, in addition to blood pressure, BMI and waist measurements. Screenings are quick and easy, and depending on results, include tips for improvement. Employees in New York City and Purchase can receive free screenings at the onsite Health Centers. All employees can receive screenings through their in-network health care provider.

VSP Diabetic Eyecare Plus Program
If you have diabetic eye disease, glaucoma or age related macular degeneration (AMD), you can receive medical follow up exams, visual field and acuity tests, specialized screenings and diagnostics tests, imaging of the retina/optic nerve and retinal screening. Expert Medical Second Opinions
Second opinions aren’t just for when you receive a diabetes diagnosis. Whether you need help understanding your condition or treatment plan, want new insight into how to better manage a chronic condition or have questions about a diagnosis or medications, the confidential second opinion service will enlist leading specialists across the country to independently assess your medical situation. NYP Health Navigator
Employees in the New York Metro area have access to a dedicated team of liaisons who will help you navigate the comprehensive NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital system for you and your family. Speak confidentially with a physician referral coordinator about your medical needs. At no cost to you, the coordinator will recommend an in-network physician or health care professional (you may also request an out-of-network provider). The coordinator can even schedule an appointment for you.

Wellness Coaching
Lifestyle changes, such as eating healthier, working out more or reducing stress, can help prevent or manage diabetes and pre-diabetes. Mental Health Benefit
Medical diagnoses like diabetes can be stressful, and help is available if you want to speak with someone. Through Lyra Health, you, your spouse/partner and children age 26 and under each have 16 free, confidential sessions per year with experienced therapists and mental health coaches. Lyra has in-person and virtual options, as well as online, self-care tools to help if you’re experiencing difficulties in your personal or professional life. Note: Onsite counseling at 1585 Broadway is available for employees in New York City.

Elder and Child Care Options (Parents | Kids)
A medical diagnosis may lead to unplanned and last-minute doctor’s visits and appointments. With the Firm’s backup care program managed by Bright Horizons, you can arrange for in-home care when you or a regular caregiver is unavailable.
